Academic Centers
The Academic Centers offer an accelerated program for students in grades seven and eight. The programs are housed in seven high schools: (Harlan High School, Kenwood Academy, Lane Tech High School, Lindblom Math and Science Academy, Morgan Park High School, Taft High School and Whitney Young Magnet High School). Admissions testing is required. After the application deadline, applicants will be contacted regarding testing time, date, and location. Apply now.

Application process
The Selective Enrollment Elementary Schools application can be used to apply to Regional Gifted Centers, Academic Centers, Classical Schools, or International Gifted programs. You can use a paper application, accessible at the Office of Access and Enrollment (click 'Apply' and 'Application Materials'). The application period begins each year on October 1st and ends in mid-December.
Testing is required in order for students to be considered. Applicants from grades 5-8 must pre-qualify for testing. Parents are notified in March regarding the results. Additional information can be found at the Office of Access and Enrollment.
